# Mit VLM Airlines von Zürich direkt nach Antwerpen

> Antwerpen in der flämischen Region Belgiens ist eine Stadt mit beeindruckender Architektur, lebendiger Modeszene und kulinarischen Highlights – und als weltweit grösster Handelsplatz für Rohdiamanten sowie Europas zweitgrösster Seehafen auch wirtschaftlich bedeutend.

## Anreise
VLM Airlines bot ab Januar 2018 einen Direktflug von Zürich nach Antwerpen an (Flugzeit ca. 2 Stunden), stellte den Betrieb jedoch Ende August 2018 ein. Empfohlen wird die Anreise per Bahn, z. B. über Brüssel – der Bahnhof Antwerpen Centraal ist selbst ein Highlight. Der Flughafen Antwerpen liegt zentrumsnah; Taxitransfer in die Innenstadt ca. 10 Minuten.

## Sehenswürdigkeiten
- **Bahnhof Antwerpen Centraal** — Imposanter, architektonisch beeindruckender Bahnhof, der Besucher bereits bei der Ankunft in Staunen versetzt.
- **Grote Markt** — Historischer Hauptplatz im Zentrum Antwerpens.
- **Antwerpen an der Schelde** — Die Lage am Fluss prägt das Stadtbild der belgischen Metropole.

## Gut zu wissen
Antwerpen ist Europas zweitgrösster Seehafen und der weltweit grösste Handelsplatz für Rohdiamanten. VLM Airlines meldete Ende August 2018 Konkurs an; die Bahnverbindung über Brüssel ist seither die empfohlene Anreiseoption.
